While most people use the terms antiperspirant and deodorant interchangeably, the two are not the same.
 
Antiperspirant contains aluminum salts. Deodorants do not. Antiperspirants containing aluminum work to completely stop perspiration from occurring. Deodorants do not contain aluminum and allow perspiration. They work to kill the bacteria that causes odor when we perspire.
